Crochet Point Features

Your complete crochet pattern management system explained – from writing patterns to tracking every stitch

STEP 01

First, you’ll head to the Pattern Editor, where you can write down your crochet patterns row by row. It’s designed to feel natural – just like jotting notes in a notebook, but smarter.

Writing Your Pattern

Click on any row to edit it, or press Enter to move to the next one. Don’t have a next row yet? No problem – the editor automatically generates one for you. You can also add rows manually anytime with the + button.

Want to add a total stitch count for a row? Just check the “Include total stitch number” box at the top, and you’ll see an extra column appear where you can note how many stitches that row should have. Need to remove a row? Click the little X button on the right side.

Paste Pattern

Got a pattern from a PDF or website? Just copy and paste it into the Pattern Analyzer. Make sure it follows the right format (click the ? button to check), and the analyzer will automatically fill in your rows.

Repetitive Rows

When the editor notices you’ve typed the same content into 3 rows consecutively, a Pro Tip appears. Click it, and it automatically prepares the Pattern Analyzer with your repetitive rows—you just need to add the ending row.

Auto-Save

The editor saves your work automatically to your browser as you type. Accidentally closed the tab or refreshed the page? No problem – everything you’ve written is still there when you come back.

Adding Markers for Important Steps

Here’s where it gets really useful. Making an amigurumi and need to remember when to add stuffing or switch yarn colors? Select a marker from the left side menu – a notification will pop up when you reach that row during tracking. Choose Custom to add your own text like “Add safety eyes” or “Switch to smaller hook”. Click the marker once to read it and twice to remove it.

Saving Your Pattern

When you’re done writing your pattern, hit the Save button. Add details to easily find the pattern:

BONUS FEATURE

Work on pattern drafts that need testing or try out the tracker without saving. This feature was created for designers refining their own patterns and for anyone who wants to explore how tracking works before committing.

Try Before You Commit

Want to see how pattern tracking works before diving in? Load any pattern into the Unsaved Tracker and experience the core features – row navigation, progress tracking, and the focused display. No account needed, no commitment required. Just pure exploration.

Since it’s not saved to your account, you won’t have access to the timer, statistics, or the pattern on other devices. Think of it as a test drive.

Focus on Testing Patterns

The Unsaved Tracker gives you the basic navigation functions from the full Pattern Tracker – you can move through rows, test your pattern structure, and see if your instructions make sense. The pattern is stored temporarily in your browser, so you can refine it as many times as needed before saving the final version.

STEP 03

This is where the magic happens – where you actually get to crochet your projects and track your progress in real-time. No more losing your place or missing important steps.

The Current Row Display

When you load a pattern, you’ll see the current row displayed prominently in the center of your screen. Everything else fades into the background so you can focus on exactly what you’re supposed to be doing right now. No more squinting at tiny text!

As you work through your pattern, rows that are far above or below your current position automatically collapse to give you more focus. You can always scroll to see them, but the tracker keeps your attention on what matters.

Keyboard Navigation

Arrow Up/Down, Enter, or Space to move between rows. Click the row counter to jump to any specific row number instantly.

Mobile Navigation

Floating buttons at the bottom of the screen for easy navigation. Click the row counter to jump to any specific row number instantly.

Auto-Save Progress

Every time you move to another row, your position is saved automatically. Close the browser and pick up exactly where you left off.

Marker Notifications for Important Steps

Remember those markers you added in the editor? When you reach a row with a marker, a modal pops up in the center of your screen with your reminder message:

“Add stuffing now!”  “Switch yarn colors”  “Insert safety eyes”

Click “Continue” to dismiss and keep going. It’s impossible to miss these reminders—they demand your attention at exactly the right moment.

Project Timer

Here’s where Premium members get something truly special: the Project Timer.

Session Tracking

Start timer when you begin, pause when you take breaks. Each session is saved to history.

Auto-Pause

Timer automatically pauses if you switch to another tab or app.

Statistics

See current session time, total project time, and average time per row.

Reset Option

Reset timer with confirmation, showing your total time so you can record it elsewhere.

The timer tracks every second you spend on each project, building up statistics over time. Perfect for understanding how long projects really take and planning future work.
